Default About to turn over my rebuilt RB20

So before pray to the RB gods and turn my key, Im going to unhook the cas and turn the engine with the crank bolt a good few times. Is there anything else that I need to do before I go to crank it over? There wont even be fuel at the injectors yet so do I even need to unhook the cas before turning the engine a few times?

It's not a mechanical fuel pump....lol

The ZZzzzt when you first hit the key is the pump priming

Now PRAY !

I don't know if you have a new turbo...if so don't forget to prime it. If you can turn it over no issues with the crank bolt, give er.

I was refering to this. I misunderstood what he was saying here. All I have to do is turn the engine over with the key but have the CAS harness unhooked so the injectors dont fire

I cranked the engine for about 20 seconds 2 x and still didnt see the oil pressure climb at all. is that normal? The oil pressure sensor is for sure plugged in

you wont see oil pressure at 300 rpm, just crank it for 30 seconds, 15 will do now and then plug the cas in and be ready for a drive.

she fired up really nice and Im reading ~7 on my oil pressure gauge at startup.

One issue is a relatively loud ticking noise from the top end. Is that normal? I tried to get some oil into the head but its making a noticable sound when I was in the car with the door open

idle's high.

Ideally you want as little idle time as possible and as much off throttle vacuum you can get.

Collapsed Lifter ? or just Lifter noise ?

You didn't put an Oil Restrictor into the block during the rebuild did you ?
