Default Alternator Not Charging

Before I go and buy/rebuild an alternator for my gtr I figure i would ask. Maybe I overlooked something easy.

My car sat all winter and when we fired it up the alternator was not charging. Are there any wires not directly on the alternator that might cause a no charge symptom.

I think I'm just going to pick up a 160 amp alternator anyways.

A nissan quest alternator is supposed to bolt up fairly easy.

You probably did this, but if not check your main 100A fuse. If that is popped it won't charge

The car wouldn't run either though correct? Either way the GTR has no main fuse I believe.

Already found the alt I will buy. Figure I will just replace it anyways.
What I think happened is the alternator got oil in it from the relocation kit and then the dust finally made it's way into there as where i stored on the trailer it was pretty gross. Or it just up and quit finally.

car will run perfectly without an alternator.

...for a short time. then it dies and will not start again.

No, it really wont run perfectly. My gtr needs 14 volts or it's unhappy on idle, like it misses a beat

I'm just buying a higher output alt for when i throw an additional fan + huge pumps in.
