Default (2) RB25 transmissions...one catch

I found someone selling two RB25 transmissions for 350/each. He is a very reputable poster on a few forums. One catch though...but for the price it doesn't matter what you get.

I have 2 RB25 5 speed tranny's. One is a little grindy, the other isn't. I don't know which is which (stupid, I know). This is hard since I didn't mark them. I ran both of them and they both worked well, just when you heat up the gear oil real good, one starts grinding a bit. $600 for both or $350 each and it's the luck of the draw, sorry.

two transmissions would fit on a fedex pallet I imagine. I was close to buying one of these, but a Z32 transmission is wayyyy cheaper.

Damn well I really want to learn and do it myself but I really don't wanna mess it up. Do you think you could pm me a list of compatible parts for swap the Z32 tranny in Zacho? I saw in your build thread you said you needed a rb25 bellhousing? How much beer and pizza would I need if I brought my car and parts to edmonton:P?

Honestly, the one thing I have learned is take your time. And if you don't know something, find out before you put it all back together and go "oh wait..."

The rb25/26 bellhousing isn't exactly a bellhousing per say. it is the front casing, but honestly not bad to do. I've done it with an SR/CA gearbox, not a big deal at all.

Check this thread out, I posted some very useful stuff. Notice you will need a custom longer driveshaft because the Z32 trans is shorter. You can use the yoke from a z32 on the driveshaft as well. There is also a part number/picture there showing the part you can use to make the electrical z32 speedo work with the mechanical r32.

I have found Z32 transmissions from an N/A (N/a and tt are the same) for <300$! not hard to either. The N/a trans would be the best bet in my eyes...it is likely to have seen less abuse vs. a tt transmission.

So hang on, the rb26dett AWD transmission bellhousing is useable for the swap onto a rwd 300zx/pathfinder r30a transmission?
