I have to say, this is simply a beautiful car and Martin did some very nice work to get it to the state it's in currently.

I also came across his new website, that was put up for the sole purpose to sell the car.

MWRACING's MWR34
FOR SALE $38,000 CDN - obo
"R34 REPLICA"
R32-R34 Skyline GTR Conversion Car
1 of a Kind

I personally LOVE this car, but is it really worth $38,000 CAD ?

I am trying desperately to figure out Martin's motivation on this deal and what he is thinking in terms of his asking price for this car.

It's a sad fact that we can not get out what we put in, in terms of a car build and unless Canadian Laws change dramatically in the next few years and as a result, BAN the importation of any R34's, I really can not see this car selling for it's current asking price.

In January, 2014, when the R34 GTR's begin to land on Canadian soil, I am almost certain that if this car hasn't sold to the 'right buyer' by then, Martin may very well be stuck with it, as I imagine $40,000 CAD should be enough to secure an authentic R34 GTR.....or close to it anyways. I also think that most buyers that are in the market for a $40,000 GTR will be educated enough to be able to make that decision as well.

What do you guys think ?

This is far from a BUILT CAR, other than the obvious R34 Body Conversion, this car has quite a long ways to go before it may be considered a true 'performer'.......

'Right Buyer' or not, can you really see this car selling for more than $29,000 CAD in the near future ?

Cheers,
Allan

I wouldnt buy a converted car, but that might just be me. I dont like something that has been cut up and customized to be something else. OEM build quality has to be better than anything Martin could have put together. R34 would be a better deal than a cut up R32 impersonating a R34

Well, in all fairness, it's still a beautiful car and from the documented work.....a job VERY well done compared to a regular BEE*R Kit (although I still like BEE*R cars as well).

I simply LOVE R34 GTR's and if this is the closest I can ever get to owning one, then I am all for it.

If by some strange twist of fate, the R34 GTR's are deemed illegal for importation when their time comes......this car will be worth a fortune, again, to the Right Buyer ;)

I love R34 GTRs. I can really appreciate the work that has gone into this car. Quality work, and looks amazing for what it is. But the matching of the R34 body on the R32.. there is something that just isnt right. He used OEM parts, so the body lines are on the fenders (front and rear) dont match the door. I understand that you wont make a proper looking R34 from an R32, and R34 front conversions look cool. But seeing it in person, something is just off... It looks great from some angles, and just wrong from others. Maybe its just me.
Kudos to Martin for the build, it is amazing.
But for for anything over $20,000 (if importation laws stay the way they are now), this car will need a buyer that has more money than brains.

For the good work that was done and considering it's passed AirCare etc and is an already LANDED Canadian Car, it's maybe worth.... $25,000....but I don't think a penny more.

I myself, couldn't pay more than $20,000 for it though, as you mentioned above.

It's a $10,000 BNR32 with about that same amount in work done.

It's a nice car no doubt. However the skirts being molded to the rear fenders and not the fronts looks like shit.

Not to throw a wrench in your gears or anything. But what is the real purpose behind this thread? Other than to cut his car down? Because I can't see this thread going in any other direction.

Yes, in Martin's defense, it's pretty lame to cut down on someone's work when he cannot defend it on this forum.

You cannot disagree that hard work/time/money has been spent on this project to make it truly unique in Canada.

Martin is also a great guy that helped many West Coasters for many years.

I love that car, don't give a shat who owns it. I remember seeing a picture of him pulled over when he brought it out. I think its a great piece of work.

Nice car but 38k is too steep. It's not my taste but it's a damn close replica. Probably the best thats ever been done. You do that work because you love the R34 that much but can't have one. He should be keeping it or have never of done it. He will never get his money back out of it. I hope it's not being sold because of financial reasons but I think that’s the case.

I remember talking to him about it in Skymeet 2006. I don't think any of us could have imagined it would turn out so nice.

It's too bad he's selling it...

His goal is to show people that him and his fabricator can do a full conversion of R32 to R34 using OEM Parts.

Since day one his goal is to build it, showcase it, and sell it to the RIGHT BUYER..

anyone notice the gts seat?

38g is steep but who cares, the right buyer will come along eventually.

Now, if he took things a step further and did a LHD conversion to it, I could see it selling regardless of the asking price.
