Hey guys, I have been reading up on different ECUs and am just getting more and more confused. I think I have decided on Nistune.

My goals are around 450whp. From what I have read Nistune is good for at least 457whp. I know I have read what the stock MAFs are good for but can't seem to find it again. Will they handle this power?

I have a Mines ECU in my R32 GTR and was wondering if it will work with the Nistune board. Has anyone done this? Should I just get a standard ECU and Nistune?

Thanks.

I dont know a lot about this and Im sure Skym will post his thoughts soon, but I would say you are better off to sell the Mines ECU and use that money to offset the cost of Nistune on a OEM ECU.
Im not going to make any assumtions about what an RB26 MAF can handle, Ill leave that to the pros

Using a Mines ECU for Nistune is a waste.
Sell the Mines, get a regular unsocketed OEM ECU and call it a day.

The Mine's ECU is nothing more than a pre-socketed ECU with a hot-glued-in EPROM. Just sell it and get a virgin ECU. You will be money ahead, at the end of the day.

btw getting that .5" of hot glue off the EPROM will end up damaging the board, so just sell the MINES and get a stock board then chip it for NISTUNE.

I have no idea what it is tuned for. I will just sell and get a stock ECU I guess.

Thanks guys.

HHmmm..... Does it run on Stock Injectors in your car right now ?

It just so happens I am looking for an ECU like that and I have a stock one to part with.

Wanna make a deal ? ;)

Ya, it was running stock injectors, Apex'i intake and a cat back.

What kind of deal did you have in mind?

You could download the Mines ECU EPROM to laptop via Nistune tuning software (I did this with stock maps on my cars stock ECU before fitting Nistune to ECU, so I have a backup of stock tune). Then upload maps, etc later on to Nistune equipped stock ECU, if you wanted to. Once you have downloaded maps from ECU, you can have a look over the maps and see what has changed compared to stock maps (changed injectors, changed MAF, etc). Only time you can't download EPROM contents, is when the person who tunes the car software locks it.
