Ok so i go and pop my hood last night and what i see is a bunch of white dots everywhere. on pretty much anything that isnt plastic or any tubing. it runs and starts fine so im just wondering what it is. and if i run my finger over it, it just falls off

Any ideas? ive never heard or seen it before

i also have a vented CF hood if that plays a factor im not sure

Much obliged

Does your city salt its roads?

I was going to say that but not exactly. Water spots, so when the water evaporates it leaves behind the dissolved solids/mineral residue. Even rain water can do this if you are in Alberta :p

no salt, roads are almost dry here

when it warms up their still there, i went and rubbed it off and its like pixie dust

im assuming its dust from cutting my hood, mud/dirt and water then dried

i just thought maybe someone has had that before, at first it looked like mold haha

if it rubs off like dust it's just water spots

My GTR had red dust on the coil packs, under the coil pack cover and on the back side of cam belt cover. It was rust from the timing belt tensioner bearing before it blew up and killed my engine.
Doesn't sound like your problem but it's something to think about and lose sleep over.....lol.
