As everyone can see things are just getting started. So do what you can and pass the word on, hopefully we can get some members signed up and the discussions started ;)

I like the exclusivity we have right now lol, we have under 20 members, all of which are diehards who know what they're talking about, not highschool kids signing up to look at skyline photos and ripping on people for what rims they have (i know I pretty much described myself, but hopefully some of you know Im not like this at all :D)

Yeah....is there any kind of script you can run on this page that will filter out all the roflcakes? lol... The last fukkin thing I wanna see here is: "what do i need for 700hp???"
It would be nice to see this forum full of information thats more technical than other sites.

i heard you can plug a computer into a skyline and get 1000hp out of it.

Well, I'm a fucktard...lol....BUT atleast I actually own an RB powered car...hehe
Nothing worse than reading shit like on GTRC about 'being nice to the newbs'.....and 'feelings' and shit
I hope to see this community grow and grow in a positive way.
Also, I vote:
- Forum Sigs that contain an old-ass list of gay fucking Hondas that you once owned should be enough to get a user banned for life...lol
I really don't give a fuck what you drove 5 years ago and when it sold, or what happened to it....hehe
Hugs,
Allan

I agree that peoples feelings will need to be thrown out the window. Jeremy Clarkson doesn't care about feelings so why should we.
Now the real question is, should it be
"own an RB powered car" or "own a RB powered car"
Grammar says "a"

Depends.....Speaking vs Writing.
Writing = 'a'
Speaking = 'an'
Some people type exactly how they speak, so can do neither....lol
....so put that in your pipe and smoke it Mr. !

I vote for "an" because you do not phonetically sound out RB as a word, you pronounce it like the word "are"
IE: An Are Bee Powered Car

ya, seriously, i mean, i barely look at gtrc anymore, its too full of cry babies. I mainly go there for the western section now and that is it. So lets try and get this thing going good with lots of information and less bitching about how great our "community" is except some people are rude and are ruining it. I want to learn about cars, not get lectured about manners, gtrpwr FTMFW!

no worries man, and I can do that for you. I know you're a busy guy so I haven't said anything prior, but saw 2 Skylines the other day and wondered, hey what about that cruise.
Speaking of which, we must do that again soon, highlight of my summer :)

yea man, i'm down. we gotta have one in sept before it gets too cold.
unlike most car groups, we don't have weekly meets. so, for me, every meet is worth attending!

haha I know what you mean, out west they have weekly meets that unfortunately only get 3 or 4 cars some nights. I mean 2 of the meets so far this year have been 'organized' by myself, I know everyone is busy and doesn't really have time to sit there and think up plans to a cruise etc. We'll definately get something going in sept, I cant wait
mcfly
08-31-2009, 02:07 PM
That's about how it goes in Kamloops. 3 or 4 cars twice a week.

See, as nice as that would be, a weekly meet, I think guys would think its the same old small turnout and not bother. So far, other than cruises to CSCS or track events, the GTA has had 3 meets this season, the 2 I was at had turnouts of 6 for the first one (last minute), and 10 for the second one, which ended up being a full day affair w/cruise and dinner. Awesome day!

unfortunately weekly would never work since there's so few of us although that would still be my preference (i require routine in my life or else i'll forget lol).
but still would like to see the meets more structured. perhaps once a month, or twice a month.
organizing it is always an issue for me as its too time consuming for my schedule. thats why i just tag along with other car club weekly meets at square one mall. :o

I know. As much as there are a handful of guys that really love going to meets all the time, and seem like they tollerate my attendance, I feel like a nuissance at them. I mean when I see one i get a bit out of hand, and after reading stories such as doublej's in the 'stories of people acting like noobs' thread, thats pretty much myself. I'll let burly organize this last one, or maybe you and I can dave, all I know is im going to try and keep a low profile until next year, looks likely that I'll have my gtr by then.

nah, nobody minds you at all. i don't know why you seem to think that! really ryan, its totally cool. you act nothing like the fools in the noob thread.... shit. the most troublesome ppl at meets are the ones that have nice cars and think its better than a lambo. there's nothing wrong with being young dude..
Oakville
09-02-2009, 08:30 AM
Thanks man...I can assure that I wont be like that, with the lambo thing. I just can't wait until I get the rest of my money together, i have been waiting for the day I get my own skyline since about 2001. I am about a few months away now, Ill have my money together within the next 6-8 months. then I can come in my own, as much as i love the accord right now, i have better acceleration on foot hehe. is yours a 5spd?
mcfly
09-02-2009, 08:32 AM
Speed is over rated these days. they just put you in jail now
Oakville
09-02-2009, 08:37 AM
haha my accord is a 4cyl automatic, probably has about 17whp. im just saying when im trying to merge on the highway, its like pulling teeth
king_cobra
09-02-2009, 10:45 AM
yea, the ex-r's a 5spd. the 5spd helps alot in maintaining sanity and milking all 140 raging stallions but i still have to double downshift to 3rd to get any resonable passing/merging done while making alot of noise. LOL
the funny thing is the guys that drive fast on the road are the ones with slow cars but want ppl to think its fast (small dick complex).
the guys with fast cars are always chillin cuz they know they're the shit. =P

that's good, my car is body and engine wise in perfect condition (knock on wood), but the tranny is really sticky. the tranny guys that have driven it have just said "at least youre not slipping", so if the tranny does end up going, im going to try and find a 5spd to go into it. My dad's painter offered to paint my bumper covers for me, so now I look like an EXR :)
and Im not trying to go fast, im just trying to keep up with traffic LOL. I know how it feels, whenever Im able to drive an M5 or M6, anything like that, for work, I dont do anything stupid, if anything I drive a bit slower, cause i FEEL like the shit. I dont like the cars, but any soccer mom can look at one of those and say 'wow that looks pretty nice'. I wont be able to truly appreciate it until i get my own gtr :D
king_cobra
09-03-2009, 06:11 AM
when you say the tranny is sticky, u mean it does 'jerky shifting'?
if so, thats perfectly normal and there's nothing wrong with your tranny. it'll continue to do that at 400,000kms+ and never slip. just make sure you use the genuine honda ATF fluid in it or else you will have issues.
but u see what i mean when driving a nice/fast car - there's zero desire to do anything retarded since you're so happy. that'll be you soon.
Oakville
09-03-2009, 10:35 AM
Uhh not necessarily jerky shifting, just laggy. Im used to, when not in a rush, shifting at 2500 tops in manuals, and when not pushing it in the accord, sometimes i dont shift until 3500 into second and third, but easily shifts at 2000 4th. If thats just an automatic tranny at work, Im a noob with them, It just doesnt feel right, the engine feels like its going all out with no torque, and ends up in a slight jerk of a shift.
and I hope so. :)
