that brown slime....?

not sure if anyone else has it, but im just wondering.. is it safe or possible to just use a hose and push water into the upper rad hose attachement and flush out all that brown slime? is there a better way to do it?

thought i'd ask before attempting anything that might cause damage...

you can flush your rad out,by just running water from a garden hose from the top and letting it run out the bottom.then when you see clean water coming out,its good.
also disconnect your heater hoses,from the firewall and run water through your heater core.the sludge with definitely be collecting in there.again,once it is clean water on the way out,it should be good.
and replace your coolant,and clean out your reservoir.
you shouldn't have to run water through your engine.

LOL.. well a bit of advice.. check this out.

i figured i would make use of the rad hoses.. so hooked up the bottom one and put a bucket under neath (radiator already out of car) thinking it could drain into there... then took those quick snap water nozzle bits and secured one into the upper rad hose and put the upper rad hose to the upper hose inlet on the block... attached the water hose and turned the tap....

WE ALL FORGOT ABOUT THE THERMOSTAT!!

so.. guess what happens? well it pressurizes and then explodes the loosely put rad hose all over the place, now im covered in slime...awesome! ... lol

anyways i guess ill wait untill the block is out of the car untill i give it a proper flush, so i can remove the thermostat...

There's more than one way to flush a engine. Can flush engine through heater, etc with garden hose and let water come out bottom radiator hose.

Also remove overflow bottle, clean the inside (gets gunk buildup in bottom of overflow bottle).

To clean radiator properly, the radiator needs to be removed. Then endtanks removed from core and core rodded. They can get up to 30% buildup of gunk inside core. Radiator specialist can do this.

How could you forget about the thermostat lol, that dictates circulations. Geez :p
