RB26DETT coolant routing questions.

The basics:
No heater.
Grex remote oil cooler/thermostat plate.

Do 1 and 2 have to be connected if I'm deleting the heater and running a thermostat plate? Is there a way for the coolant from the rear to get to the neck internally? Can 1 and 2 be blocked?

If they must be connected, what is a good size tubing or hose to use?

you can block them off

#1 can be unthreaded then blocked with a S.S bolt.

I assume you mean unthreaded from the block. Where do you find an stainless bolt that size?

Thanks again McFly...you are a wealth of knowledge.

could I tap one of these for my water temp sender?

I could put a plug in number one and measure temp from there. I would also measure temp from the upper hose too though.

Would't that be the same as tapping into the thermostat neck at #1?

no, that'd give you a much cooler temp as it is after the rad.

The top hose would give you engine coolant temp before rad.

Sorry, I meant #2.

Number 2 would be the same as the upper rad hose right?

Many major tuning shops in japan ran two or even three coolant temp sensors.

One front, one middle, one rear. Two would be more then enough, the back of the engine is where things happen and everything gets hot.

Shouldn't the hottest water be in the top hose, right after the thermostat?
