Compare it to a RB26 or RB30 with similar hp at the wheels (hub dyno, not a roller dyno like above R35GTR) -

100 US hp on R35GTR at 2000rpm vs 42.5 UK hp at 2250rpm from RB26. Nearly 2x the hp with 250rpm less revs.

that's from torque.

torque comes from small turbos and large displacement.

There's no replacement for displacement.

Is that an actual question? Because i think you know the answer to that, and if you forgot, yes I have an rb20 with a 25 turbo

It was somewhat of a rhetorical question. Torque out of an rb20 is like a man having a baby. Very unlikely.

I cannot comment on how turbo size relates to torque though.
I do know that like stated above by rb-racer, more torque is achieved with more boost. If you had a smaller turbo you could have more boost at torque peak and multiply it with solid boost numbers.

Torque is determined by a few factors

- The size of the piston face

- The amount of pressure that the ignited fuel applies to the face of the piston

- The distance the piston travels on each stroke

- The diameter of the crankshaft, the bigger the diameter of the crankshaft, the bigger
the lever arm and therefore the more torque.

You can convert torque to horsepower with the following equation:
HP = Torque * RPM / 5,252
