2003
Im a Chevy die hard import hater.
At some "legal" races, I heard of a Skyline showing up. I saw it run side by side with a Chev V8.
I became friends with owner of said Skyline through local car club. He directed me to The Skyline Shop. Checked out Skylines.
Having our first kid. Looking for another car. Wifey wasn't feeling driving a Skyline with a baby. Bought a Sentra Spec V. It was a problematic car. Convinced a not pregnant wifey, and we traded the Spec V for my first Skyline.

Loved it. Enjoyed it. She was taken from me. Long story short. Tourist in front of me missed their exit on the HWY. Stopped in the fast lane. 3/4 ton Dodge truck behind me didnt touch his brakes.

Lots of issued stemmed from this accident. Went through other vehicles. Wanted my damn Skyline back. December 2008 I found a wicked deal on a GTS. $3k all said and done for a complied registered non turbo GTS. Mechanically mint, esthetically need some work.

Loved it. Had plans for it. 3 months into owning it... Stupid lady with out snow tires locked her brakes up coming down a snowy hill.

Learned here how ICBC fucks RHDs. Less than $2k damage (as you can see). Got $7k from ICBC for it.
Bought this.

Origin Kit, Nice Paint. Other than exhaust, stock performance wise. Installed FMIC, cam gears, played around with GTR cams. Tuned @ Z-Tune at Skymeet.
The NEXT FUCKING DAY.
This happened.
Old guy wasn't paying attention.
http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/3473/accidento.jpg
Once again. Just under $5k damage. They paid me $11k. Make sense? No. Whatever.
Bought this, and god dammit I'm keeping it.

RB23det. Building to prove to a local Skyline guy that slapping a big turbo on a stock motor and spending an obscene amount of money without knowing what you are doing or how to make power was a dumb decision, and that he should have listened.

Planning on drifting the shit out of this car to make up for the past 3 years my accidents have taken from me (I was rear ended 5 times in the past 3 years).

yeah I wonder how that happened :D

Interesting.

Had to put it down somewhere, as their arms were tired. :D

Avoid stroking bottomend if possible, as it weakens the RB20DET block and is known to crack (unless you sleeve the block, like HKS did). Stock bore or just over (0.5mm or 1.0mm oversized piston) is good for up to around 500hp all of the time on racetrack with forged bottomend and block doesn't crack. That's if stock drivetrain can handle 500hp.

Want a RB20/RB25 sump for track/drag/drift use??? High Energy in Australia sell upgraded 8.5 litre capacity sumps with trapdoors, modified pickup, sump baffles, etc to prevent oil starvation, surge -

Is a cheap sump when you look at the cost of other sumps (over 1K for pro sump) and what you get.

Nistune for stock ECU has been proven to work up to 560hp on a stock internal RB20DET. Should handle a forged RB20DET without problems, if it's tuned properly.

wow, is that alot of bad luck? fuck..

bad luck? maybe. look at it this way. said luck took me from a $3k non turbo that needs work. to a nice 275hp kitted 4 door, with no extra money from my pocket.

I really don't see how you would call that bad luck. Seems like damn good luck to me. He never got hurt from what I understand and typical ICBC paid out the ass for him to get better and better cars every time..

Nice car, wish I had "bad luck" like you

Its bittersweet luck.
Am I hurt. Hell yes. Take a look at that first one, tail lights up to the back window. Subsequent accidents just aggrivated everything. Back is not in good shape. Past 3 years has been chiropractor and physio visists 3-4 times a week, excersizes, and countless hours spent at the pool just to keep me working my light duty job.
It is also a pain in the ass to get a car, start working on it, setting it up, tuning it etc. just to lose it because ICBC writes off any RHD. I own these cars because I want to get out on the track and enjoy them, and in the past 3 years I have only been able to attend 4 Auto-X events and that was last year before my last accident (June 28th 2009). Only good luck I have had in this is getting better cars everytime.

Yea.. it's a win-lose situation really.

I remember hearing about your car after SkyMeet. Told you it was kind of a blessing in disguise after the numbers it put down at Z-Tune. Think you were half choked when I said that haha.

Then when you met me to drop off that turbo timer you were pretty stoked with your new acquisition. I said it then and I'll say it again, those rims are freaking sweet.

Glad you're enjoying it man. Can't wait to see what you'll do with it. And 275hp hey? I guess that's what I can expect when I get a set of injectors and a good tune... since my car is almost identical to yours mechanically. R34 RB25 Neo6 turbo FTW. A disguised GT28 as I'm told...

Funnygas

Im sure this car would have made more with a proper tune with the few little kinks I've found worked out. TSS street tune FTL.
The numbers I put down at Skymeet weren't accurate. A G35 with Intake + Exhaust put down the same numbers as me (167hp). Its been said, Jurie told me when we went for a rip down the street to see why it was bogging, the dyno they use isn't theirs, its just for tuning, not numbers. The car was tuned, FMIC, Exhaust, stock turbo, stock injectors, 12 psi... I was impressed how it ran after the tune.

I'm planning on doing mine this summer with Z-Tune. Last year did you have to buy Nistune and get your ECU socketed?

Will I see you this year with your new car loading up? I know it's the heartbreaker so of course it isn't for numbers. On a DynoJet you would have done 200whp I'm sure, even though you were leaning out to no prevail. I'm sure with a good AFR it would have put down some good numbers.

Funnygas
01-11-2010, 11:09 AM
No Nistune. I socketed my ecu at work, and ran the stock chip in the socket. They made a tune, burned it to a chip and I ran that... for a day :(
This car will need some tuning, so yes you will see me there. I plan on getting it dyno'd at the shop it threw down 275 at, for an accurate comparrison though.

the skylines werent even all of it. rear ended twice in my blazer. wrote off a cressida over vandalizsm. the car before this (other 4 door) got nailed by a flying piece of wood on the hwy. this car has a dent in the door from a co-worker who cant pull out of a parking spot. ICBC hates me. im starting to think i should remove the bullseye from my car

Oh nice. I guess they can't penalize you for having crappy luck haha. Still lets hope you don't scratch this one anymore then it is, or ICBC will write it off too lol

I let the last one go without much of a fight knowing what I was getting for it and having found my current car for sale. ICBC will do what you let them. You can also control them. Experience has taught me this.

Yeah one thing I learned with insurance in AB is that you don't accept the first 3 or 4 offers no matter what

You might already know this, but WestCoast HotRods has your gold GTS-t (4 door). Maybe you sold it to them, or maybe they bought it from ICBC. I know because I took the rebar off of it earlier this afternoon :D

Yes the good thing about Charlie's cars are that their front ends are all good (except the latest one)

Ya I am pretty sure icbc sold that car to westcoast 4x4 before my dealing were done because they put up a major fight when I said I was keeping it (buying it back). I had to call head office, who raised hell for me. I ended up not buying it back because of the time they took to clear it up.
