It wouldn't be hard to have a meet half way. A few of you are in Kamloops/kelowna area right? Would love to head down to salmon arm to visit some friends there anyways. I could easily meet anywhere in one of those 3 cities
Kyle
I'd consider something...

DrMango, if my eyes are correct your engine is in grave danger with the injectors wide open like that.
^^^^ Hahaha I never noticed his duty percentage. At 7700rpm no less. Time for an upgrade I think.

Actually, that's an Apexi AVC-R, and depending on how it's connected, that might not even been the actual injector duty.
If I remember off the top of my head, you can either have it connected for "Injector Duty" or "RPM" wiring. If you connect it off the injectors, then you cant use the RPM based boost function of the AVC-R. If you have it connected off the RPM, then you can't keep an eye on your injector duty.
Its basically one or the other, but the controller will still let you monitor injector duty, even though its given out wrong data and irrelevant.
I paid more attention to the 393 km/h then the 99.3% injector duty. :p

If there is one in Kelowna (Van and Victoria too) I'll be there but on my feet. Commin' out to do some visiting. Be cool to actually put some faces to some names.
Unlike a number of people here I'm not anti GTRC yet but there is a thread about a meet in either Ottawa or Montreal. TOOO far for you west coast boys I know.

DrMango, if my eyes are correct your engine is in grave danger with the injectors wide open like that.
Its a funny picture and I knew this would come up, but I figured like Dark would that people would notice the 393KM/H first lol.
DarkCorporaL is a smart dude and has it figured out. He is right in that I chose to use the RPM based function over the injector duty when installing my AVCR. If I now choose the injector duty to be displayed then it actually shows it inacurately in reverse. So at 99.3% they would barely be in use at idle. At 0% they would be maxed. Either way its wrong.
A friend and I were ripping back to my house on the highway and I was beating his GTSt like always when I noticed my speed was at 390+KM/H so I had the GF take a picture when we got home. The reason for the 390+ speed was that before I had my ECU tuned and the limiters removed I had installed a switch for a speed limiter cut. I know the problems and that crap and don't use it anymore but when its turned on(which it must have been at the time)It messes up your speed signal from the ECU. Just one more reason not to mess with wire #53
Kyle

01-13-2010, 10:38 AM
Yeah, I would hardwire it back ;)
DrMango
01-13-2010, 10:40 AM
It is now because I was tired of the switch in the glovebox and the extra wire to the ecu. Its also about to be changed to Injector duty instead of RPM

If we have a meet we would have to have the meet sometime late afternoon with the long drives people would have. How long of a drive to Kelowna from Vancouver? Im a solid 7 hours to salmon arm, which is where I'll be spending the night.
Kyle

01-13-2010, 09:57 PM
well for some we may have to stay a night and do a bit of night driving, i have friends in penticton and family in kelowna so i may end up staying a few extra nights
im about 4.5 hours to kelowna
DrMango
01-13-2010, 10:00 PM
Yeah I'll likely crash in a hotel or camp if its warm enough out then hang out with friends the next day in SA. I don't want to leave at 6am to get there early afternoon then get home at 11 or 12.
That being said I'm happy to spend the night and still excited for a meet

Ye i see what you mean there, once we get more interest we'll start throwing around dates...let say we would need about 15-20 of us to be worth wile?
We don't even have that many people ACTIVELY posting on the boards. It's a select few of us ahaha. Lets grow first.
Even SkyMeet only consisted of like 20-30 Skylines... if that.

01-13-2010, 10:28 PM
well in 6 months i think we could have quite a few more people on here and interested, the majority of us are in western canada

I agree with the post above, any plans are quite premature as we do not have the member base for a full fledged meet.
DrMango

No one is under the idea that this meet will be happening right in spring or anything, or any specific time frame even..
We realize that the member base is small but like inhumane said, I'll be in that area already during the summer. Might as well try to get ideas together. I don't care if its just 5 people, maybe 10 would be awsome.
Having this conversasion might even get more interest on this forum..

I want to see that car of yours in person. So yes.
And there's a few guys that come out who are "aged" as well. They have some of the best cars...

Looks like there will be atleast 2 meets planned at the same time. There is a western skymeet being organized with sponsors on GTRC. The people looking to take part in that meet, please refer to the link I posted in the previous post or to the meet clearly listed in the meet section.
This will be a seperate meet and we shall continue to push it as a GTRP meet. Anyone that is interested in some input towards making this happen please post here

Naw, I just did the Banff meets in 2006, 2007 and 2008. The extent of my form power was being able to send out 50+ peepz mass mails. I gave up in 2009 and let others do it. GTRC dosen't seem to have the same appeal as it used to. No one wants to get together anymore :(
I'll watch this thread and see if I can make it. Hell I got the car still, shouldn't be a problem :P

we really don't have enough people right now to gather in a remote location and make it worthwhile.
if people want to get ideas together for locations someone can then make a poll and we vote.

someone make a meet location discussion thread.
I agree that it would be smart to stagger the two events, especially with our current size.
If anything, we should have it after. That way everyone goes to the GTRC meet, has a wicked time going, "We should totally do this again!"
"Yea? Come out in two weeks for the GTRP meet in Kelowna then."
Muss@GeneticTuning

I'm in, with the Holy Grail of car shows (Langley Cruise-in) cancelled this year I think I can make the GTRC meet, HotNite (Kamloops) and whatever you guys want to throw together.
Kelowna would be like me stepping back 20 years, I used to cruise there at least 4 weekends a summer with a bunch of other car dudes. Current ride is much cooler now ;).
