so i finally have time to look at my blown rb30 motor closely after a year and a half of being away from it
here are the pistons and rods, can anyone tell me, just from looking at it, what went wrong ??? and what caused the oil pressure to drop to 0 ???

motor was running for aprox. 500kms for break in and then went on the dyno blew up at the 5 pull because the oil pressure was at 0.

I remember looking at this a while ago, does anyone recall what actually caused the oil pressure to sink to zero?

didn't he use a N1 oil pump on his million dollar motor?

Not trying to be a dick but you should expect that to happen in a 800+ hp car thats running a N1 pump. I would really think he should have been doubly careful after his first engine blew up when he bought the car from Adam

I expected more carnage from such a high power engine. And from thread title I'll admit...

Should have seen the piston I ran into at a parts store the other day. Blew out the cylinder wall and went through the passenger brakes. Thing was smashed all to hell. Looked like an oddly shaped mushroom.

Mind you if I told you I'd seen the aftermath of many blown engines I would be lying...
