The OS Giken Close Ratio Gear kit is produced for those who are seeking a solution for for a stronger transmission and better results. The ratio of each OS gear set is determined through research and many actual race track tests, so that it s possible to use the performance of your highly modified engine to its full extent. Carefully selected quality materials are used, and every gear is forged for extra strength. Furthermore, metal surface processing called “hard shot peening” are given to the gears so that they can hold heavier load for reliability. OS Close Ratio Gear sets are based only on quality, not in production costs.

Many grey-market, or JDM suppliers who attempt to sell OS Giken Gearsets do not include english instructions as we do, nor do they tell you the necessary OEM factory updated parts that are needed to have the OS Giken gearsets work perfectly.

This kit is designed for the racer that requires the alternate gearing. It is recommended for low to medium powered GTR's

This kit is designed for the road racer that requires the shorter gearing throughout. It is recommended for low to medium powered GTR's

-3 Speed Close Ratio Gear Kit with Reinforced input shaft $3,190US (+GST, Duty, Brokerage)
This kit is designed for the drag racer, or street car. It is recommend for low to Hi Power GTR's. The input shaft is replaced with a stronger shaft that can handle more load and shock.

-3 Speed Close Ratio Gear kit with 5th gear and Reinforced input shaft $3,690US (+GST, Duty, Brokerage)
This kit is the strongest gearset you can buy that uses the factory transmission case. When paired with the OS Giken Reinforcment Center plate it can handle alot! OS Says the transmission case will fail before the gears do! This is designed for all types of racing and street cars.

-Reinforced Center Plate $990US (+GST, Duty, Brokerage)
This can be used with any gearset, and replaces the center section of the transmission with a billet section. This greatly prevents the actual transmission case from flexing, and therfor allows the gears to stay in full mesh even under hi power. This plate is specially coated to decrease wear

OS Giken has designed this sequential transmission to specifically fit the engine characteristics of Nissan's RB26 engine to allow the engine to perform to its maximum potential. To meet the incredible demands of strength and quality required, OS have used primarily forged and reinforced materials. By optimizing gear size and settings, we have increased the gear axis distance to 88mm, resulting in a 6-Speed sequential transmission able to withstand up to 1500 horsepower. In addition, our original dog linked mechanism enables accurate shift changes as well as providing positive shift feel. Each product has been hand made and thoroughly examined prior to shipment. This transmission is for RACE USE ONLY. It is not practical for street drivability.

Hey Ryan, did you ever find out if 4th gear was an OEM part ? or a strengthened OSG part ? .....in the 5spd kits.

There is no 4th gear... 4th rear is accomplished by a direct coupling of the input shaft to the output shaft. So if the input and output shafts are strengthened, than I would say that 4th gear is upgrated, if not, it isn't.

LoL more or less what he said. OS Giken doesn't make an output shaft for the GTR.

Allan, For your specific case I would recommend the 1-3 set, input shaft, and the Center plate is a must! By strengthening the entire case, you increase reliability in every gear with the center plate. Give me a shout when your closer to being ready and we'll talk

I think that's the recipe for me then: 1-3, Center Plate, Input Shaft.

Hopefully we can get started on this thing before Spring.....depending on what else my Dog needs, as she just cost me $1500 and who knows what's to come....lol
