R35 "Launch Control"

Im sure by now everybody has seen footage of the new R35 GTR using "Launch Control" to rip from 0-60 in 3.x seconds. However, according to the guy who engineered this car, it is not meant to be a launch control, but is a mode to free yourself from snow and mud. This probably has something to do with all the drivetrains in North America breaking down (not all, but quite a few). There is a video of this engineer explaining this "Vehicle Dynamic Control" and the real reason Nissan included this "Launch Control" in the new GTR.
