Well I said I had something coming and here it is.

Nissan Fast 2009 Japan Edition

Now I have broken it up into 6 .rar files. This edition is designed to be burnt to a DVD.
Unrar the files and burn the contents

One downfall is the install is in Japanese characters.

part 1 - http://www.gtrpwr.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=770
part 2 - http://www.gtrpwr.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=771
part 3 - http://www.gtrpwr.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=772
part 4 - http://www.gtrpwr.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=773
part 5 - http://www.gtrpwr.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=774
part 6 - http://www.gtrpwr.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=775

I have tightly compressed the rars down to 1.6gb
uncompressed this is 4.17gb

Let me know how it goes, I'm not going to lie I have yet to run it only test the installation.

Nice!

Starting the download now.

You said the installation is in Japanese, but what about the program?

I never got that far, i tried to install it off my hard drive. It needs to be on a dvd to really work apparently

but this version is Vista compatible so it should work on windows 7 as well.

Alright so I was able to get it to work using somewhat of the instructions from the previous version.

I had to copy the NSFASTKY.INI to the windows directory like the previous one or else I kept getting a runetime error 380 when I tried starting it.

The only way I was able to get the Japan VINs working was to use the old databases from the previous versions (that were seperated A1/A2/A3/B1/B2).

Now I haven't figured out if this is because I'm not doing it correctly, or if the new version just doesn't have them. I'll keep fooling around with it and see what I can come up with.

Oh and it's the same as the previous, it's like 1/2 english 1/2 japanese. Looks exactly the same, dunno if there's that much of a difference.

EDIT1: I forgot to say, to get the menus in english you have to change the Language=JPN to Language=ENG in the NSFASTKY.INI in the program directory. The downside is you lose a couple programs from the Nissan Menu (like H42 and PITwork), but you can access them from the main program directory anyways (they are however Jap only programs). My PITWork doesnt seem to want to work, keeps giving me errors lol.

EDIT2: Ok so I figured out the runtime error for FAST (I think? lol). It's not the moving of the NSFASTKY.INI that solves it, but you have to go in the setup after installation (where you set up the drives and folders for databases, the diskette symbol), and change the Font/Script (I just used MS Gothic and Japanese script). For some reason it puts a messed up Font that doesn't work as default.

Alright I think I got it working, it does have the Jap VINs, its just a PITA to get working. If you dont use the Hdcopy.exe, it just doesn't seem to want to work.

Here's what I did:

1. Create an image and mount / or burn to dvd

2. Install Nissan FAST by running the file from disk \FASTPRG\WIN2000\SETUP\setup.exe
Just click next-next-next through the installation (you can change the install directory if you want, dont mess with the rest)

3. Run the file HdCopy.exe found in the main program directory default is \NISSAN\HdCopy.exe
In this step change the clicked buttons on the left hand side from left to right except for A1. Only A1 should be left with a tick on the left. Top right box is your DVD, and the box right under is the path you wish to extract it to. Select C:\NISSAN\Fast_CD, or whatever you like. Click OK (bottom left). Click Ok a couple times on pop up windows, then the files should start copying.

4. Open the file NISSAN\NSFASTKY.INI and change the fourth line from "Language=JPN" to "Language=ENG" if you want to have english menus.

4. Once that's done, open up the Nissan Menu and go to the FastSet options (the diskette logo on the right). You can also open this up by going to NISSAN\Nfset.exe
Go to the second tab called "CD-ROM Setup". Drive 1 should be set to your DVD drive, and Drive 2 should be set to the extraction folder you just created (something like NISSAN\Fast_CD). If the Fast_CD folder is not there, click browse and add it. You will still need to keep the DVD for the other programs from what I've noticed, but for FAST you wont need it. This part is still a bit weird to me lol.

5. Still under the FastSet options, go to the last tab called "ALL". Click Font, and change it to whatever you like. I used Font:MS Gothic, and Script:Japanese (at the bottom, instead of Western). If you do not use Japanese script, then instead of viewing Japanese symbols when the english text is unavailable, it will be giberish. Not like I can read Japanese anyways, but it's prettier lol.

6. Start FAST and enjoy.

Now, I have been able to make everything work except PITWork. I dont know what the deal is with this one, but it just wont work. It looks like it starts an online database synchronization program of some sort, which appears to fail and then crashes the program, but I'm not sure. I haven't been able to find much info on PITWorks, I dont even know what its for.

Hmm, I'm not sure, I wouldn't think so, but then I dont have a VIN to try it. I tried a couple random ones from the internet, but they dont seem to work. But its technically only a database issue. If we can get the US/EU/CAN database, then you just add it in the setup to tell the program to look through that one too.

Oh and there's a program called "Supersession Chain", which provides alternate part numbers for the ones that were replaced\stopped making, and tells you if special fitment is needed or if its bolt on. I dont recall seeing that in the previous version.

DarkCaporaL
11-28-2009, 07:42 PM
This one seems like it has all the EU/US/CAN vins.
http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f104/nissan-fast-2009-10-eldvd-gldvd-usdvd-ca-cainf-eurinf-63567/

The interfaces are slightly different between regular and Jap version of FAST. I dont even know if the databases would be interchangeable.

Hmm

I noticed that the part descriptions in the 2009 version are all in Japanese.

In the 2001 version they appeared in English.

Yes, I changed the NTFASTKY ini to = ENG

The program menus and buttons are english but the descriptors still appear in Japanese.

Any ideas on this?

Also, for the VINs

I tried a known Japanese VIN and it wouldn't accept it

But when I first input the model SERIES manually, THEN I could put the VIN in.

So for RNN14-005015

I would put N14 model series first.. and then I'd go and put the VIN in.

Burn in on a dvd and then install it. It will require the dvd in the drive when you want to run it.

Install from the hard drive is fuzzy, works on and off. In the event you get it to work, you might notice certain VIN numbers wont work anymore.

I have done it, but no effect. No way,Pedro:) It still writes 'no cd', after many clicking on OK, there is no effect. Perhaps some images to show me up?

yea this is definitely not working on my windows 7 64bit ultimate machine. what ever I do it keeps asking for the cd in hdcopy.exe. does the same for a mounted image and burnt dvd.

Greetings friends and neighbors.... does anyone have any idea why this site won't allow me to download the installation instructions for the FAST program? It denies permission saying I haven't earned the "privilege". I assume there is a good reason, but in the back of my mind I can't help but wonder, did I accidently stumble into the Dept of Motor Vehicles?

Ha! I'm relatively new here too. You need to "earn your keep". Post up some useful information, get involved in the community and privileges will come your way. I understand people would come here to get the FAST software and bounce, and that wasn't the intention of the download section. Take a seat and stay awhile, it's a great hang.

Greetings... Thank you for your warm welcoming response. I already have the FAST program... was just looking for set up instructions. There are links all over the web directing to this site for the downloads. None of them mention anything out of the ordinary regarding special rules to download. Perhaps someone from this forum will search out these sites to let people know that you frown upon downloads.

So thanks just the same. I meant no harm and did not intend to disrupt your tight-knit little community. Please accept my apologies. I will quietly remove my membership as to not cause any more disturbance than I already have.

I can get the fast menu to work but as with the other chappie, none of the buttons work. I have .net 1,2 and 3 but still no joy.

Not sure why I can't extract part 4, I use ALzip, a freebie one perhaps its sh-ite....

Im having some trouble getting the correct VIN into FAST. I have a silvia but when I input the "Chassis #" as the VIN it won't recognize it. Anyone happen to know the format for a silvia VIN?

Thanks

I've got fast 2001 working kinda now. The menu comes up and opens the fast system ok. The problem is I get a cd error and if I look at the models available it's in japanese. I tried putting a vin in but don't know what format it should be.

bdboarder
06-26-2010, 05:35 PM
I got it figured out now, there are 2 boxes for the VIN, in the first put whatever is before the - in the chassis number, in the second put whatever is after the dash.

eg. PS13 in the first box and XXXXXX in the second box for my particular case

however, I can't get Parts Master working now. It tells me that it cant find any CDs, has anyone else had this problem?

Will give the chasis number thing a try... If I knew what to do with part master it would help.... Will keep playing

skylinelemans
06-27-2010, 03:24 AM
superb...

this alternative part thing confuses me though... it wants a 3 part - part number and for example the oil filter is 15208 on fast... how do I find the alternative part for that... I know it's a nissan micra part to but I can't fathom it..

bdboarder
06-27-2010, 11:55 AM
You should at least be able to get the first 2 parts for a part number, it should look like what DarkCaporaL posted on the first page of this thread. The part number is NOT what shows up in the diagrams. Double click on the number in the diagram and it will be added to the list in the first page, then hit the little book icon and it will give you more info on it. it should also give the alternative part number on the same screen.

skylinelemans
06-27-2010, 12:10 PM

06-27-2010, 12:21 PM
haha, no idea! Im in Canada (Alberta) and I have a Silvia, but I didn't have to pay anything extra for RHD, except a bit in insurance I guess.

Let me know if you ever figure out parts master, I searched all over for instructions and couldn't find anything!

skylinelemans
06-27-2010, 12:26 PM
no insult meant....

oddly you get a price reduction for rhd.... around £10000 to register a gtr here....

bdboarder
06-27-2010, 05:42 PM
wow a price reduction and its still 10000? thats crazy!

Also, I found that part numbers are not three separate sections, they just put a hyphen on the end for some reason. the following is from FAST US help menu

Type a part number like this example for a rear hub assembly in Section 430 of a J30 Model series: 4320085E01. As you type, watch as hyphens are inserted. Like this: 43200-85E01-.

I tried this part number in parts master, and voila, it worked. I was in the US1 FAST at the time. BUT I still can't get any JDM parts to work for me regardless of whether or not I am in JP or US1. When I input a JDM part number in Parts Master while US1 is open it tells me the number is missing and when JP is open, a "CD PLAYER ERROR" pops up. This is all with FAST 2001.

Can anyone tell me what I have to do so that parts master will pull info for the Japanese parts? Also, what I have to do so that it will cross reference US and japanese parts at the same time? I have heard that this is possible with FAST, but can't seem to figure it out!

Thanks

15208 is a part code not a part number.

When you are on the main screen where the listing of parts is showed press the book button right next to the clipboard. This will get you part numbers.

Edit: i just noticed this was answered already.

you are in denmark right? so I am not sure on european keyboards, but on US keyboards one is labeled "Print Scrn" and that takes the screen shot. then you can use whatever program to crop it. I dont know if there are other ways, but thats how i do it

you can use alt-print screen in any windows version to only copy the active program window instead of the whole desktop :)
