No, it's a stock location set up. "Most" top mount set ups are external wastegates. The car they came off, which really only saw dyno time and a trip home was tuned at less than 1bar and made about 450WHP, but the turbos are capable of over 700HP on the RB at 1.8 or so.

It depends on the cam and head work. With big cams and a ported head you'll see "decent" power starting from 3,500, peak boost happens around 5,000RPM.

I have a RB30 with HKS 264 cams with adj cam gears and a very well ported head. (an extra 70hp of air flow on one atmosphere)

I'm hoping to find something with power from about 2,700rpm to 7,500rpm. with a peak of about 600hp.

You answered your own dilemma....these are about as close as you're going to get. There aren't many that come on sooner and get you to 7,500RPM and 600WHP. The 2871's will be too laggy and anything smaller will run out of steam up top on the RB30. The RB30 helps at the low end a lot, but power wise they end up about the same up top with smaller turbos.
