Has anybody found that they can download the FAST software and run it on a Mac?

Sadly I couldn't get any program to run FAST properly on the mac running leopard/snow leopard.

However, I bootcamped my mac recently to run snow leopard/windows on one hard drive. I use the windows only for tuning and fast really but it is handy to have it there. Works good!

Ok, I'll do that as well. I was going to pick up a PC just for this, but it pains me to do so! Ha ha!

If you just type into the top right search bar "bootcamp assistant", it can guide you through the whole process. All you need is a copy of windows :)

If you really wanted to though now you can buy those like really small 10 inch laptops for really cheap. I've considered one but the bootcamped mac never fails!

I already checked that out, the searchlight never fails me. I didn't set the partition yet as I wanted to see how much room windows takes up. I thought about those 10" "netbooks", but it looks like I need to run FAST with dvd's? Those usually don't have an optical drive, so bootcamp it is. You don't have the FAST catalog on your hard drive do you? From what I have read everybody copies it onto DVD and then uses those.

You can also download a program like Parallels for like $100 that will let you run Windows and OS-X simultaneously it just runs an Windows in one of the spaces (if you have Leopard or higher). The advantage f this over bootcamp is that you dont have to shut down to access windows. I have it on my Mac, it work great, I would definitely recommend it if you have a few windows only programs that you run.

Fast 2001 runs off the hard drive
as does fast 2009, the 2009 is somewhat buggy from my understanding though.

Oh... Thanks! From what I could ascertain it everybody was copying the catalog into discs. That's great news.

as does fast 2009, the 2009 is somewhat buggy from my understanding though.

I was able to get the 2001 to run, and I "think" i'm getting all of the features out of it. Basically find the "section" you are looking for and then flip through the thumbshots of each broken down item, the click "ok" to view that exploded view. That sound about right?

Now, more importantly is the question of whether 2009 is "better" or has any "updated" part numbers. If you have a model year 2000, does 2009 benefit you any over the 2001? Or is the 2001 beneficial because it has less information in it (fewer models). Any input would be greatly appreciated.

if 2009 works, it is better. I couldn't get it to run quite right on my xp desktop.

I found the initial interface pretty much the same. 2001 does everything i need for the most part.

I'll try to get it to work on Windows 7 when I'm feeling brave.

Did you get FAST 2001 to run on OSX or did you resort to Windows?

I found another forum where someone stated they got it running on OSX, but I wasn't smart enough apparently. I could extract the .rar, but OSX has NO FF'N clue what a 32.exe file is.... It works well in BOOTCAMP Windows 7.

I don't see it ever working. My limited MAC knowledge knows that the programs just wont run.
