So I installed a Innovaote LC-1 in my GTR last friday. Did the start up procedure, with no problems. The unit worked exellent for 3 days but on then end of that 3rd day the controll box descided to burst into flames....anyhow... pretty sure it was faulty unit LORDCO is going to exchange with no problems.

Just wondering what settings people used in the LM Programmer....?
or is it fine to use the factory setup.

I hate innovate now, great accuracy but terrible reliability and support.
I couldn't believe it when my most recent XD-16 didn't work right out of the box. The gauge was useless, lc-1 module worked though fortunately. Innovate wouldn't even replay to my emails or RMA requests.

default works fine, the lm programmer will auto recognize the lc-1.

so i dont have to change it from 0-5 volt function....

And did the blue ground wire on the lc... for the heater need to be grounded seperately?
I ran a larger ground wire to a lug bolted to the frame and connected all the grounds to it... it worked like I said... is that the wrong way to do it..the manual said to solder them all together under one lug....

no, they can all be grounded to one location unless you are using the 0-1v or 0-5 volt into an ecu in which case ground offset becomes a "worry".

I use quotes as the difference will be negligible and if you are on a standalone using the 0-5v signal then you can configure the offset anyways.

im not connecting it to my ecu... just to the gauge... its all separate.
just using it to make sure im not going lean...

in the instructions it states
"6.2 Hooking up the LC-1 device to the computer
1. Connect the Serial OUT connection with the included 2.5mm stereo to DB-9 cable to a serial
port on your laptop.
2. Connect the terminator plug (2.5mm male plug with no cable) into the Serial IN connection of
the LC-1."

is its fine to drive around with a usb to serial port adapter attached?

I installed two of these before... both with no issues and both ran for 20,000+kms without a hitch (after then, both cars were sold so I don't know anymore than that). Most likely a one in many lemon.. where did you locate the box? was it close to the downpipe?

I've used both

Both have their pros and Cons

My zeitronix has had it's share of issues, same with teh XD16 My buddy had.

I'd use both again, but it's just part of how things go i guess.

I have had nightmares with the XD-16 and innovate has zero customer support.

I havent had too bad of a time with innovate, but my supplier for them usually just exchanges the bad ones so maybe that's why.

AEM also makes on we've used before. It works fairly well and their customer support has always been good to me
