I don't mean to step on the toes of anyone from any other sites but this MIGHT be a good deal.
Just wanted to get some opinions on what people think of the apparent hot spots on this flywheel/pressure plates on this.
Figure at this price and get it freshened up it may do the trick.
Thanks for any constructive input!

Price out 'the core+fix' first, then compare that to a complete new setup.
That should tell you. If the rebuilt unit is going to cost 70% + the cost of new, then go new and call it a day.

That is pretty much what I would do however not part of my question. My concern was with the evidence of excessive heat/friction on the flywheel ect.
It's been awhile since I've pulled a clutch out of a car so I'm wondering if the hot spots are excessive/too much damage to machine or if the parts look ok.
Appreciate your input!

With that type of clutch I think it would be safe to ASSume that the flywheel has never been machined, this could be the first time the kit has seen the light of day in 12 years. From what I read over on GTRC the clutch is an older unit that came with the car.
Anyways if the above scenario is even close to correct snap it up and youll have a nice clutch, when I toasted the clutch in my first car it involved a 7000rpm clutch drop which led to the clutch disc fusing part of itself to the flywheel. Even after something like that they were still able to machine it safely.

In general you are looking for around %50-60 the full value of the clutch for a proper rebuild including all discs, center plates, clutch cover, pressure plate and retaining bolts
at least that's the price of the average OS Giken rebuild
