care to elaborate?
I used to believe the "100 octane is bad" theory, but never seen it cause problems in person when people ran 94 MON+RON/2
Japanese go by 100 RON, which is similar, if not same as 94 MON+RON/2
it's not like they have 100 MON+RON/2

when have you ever seen 95.3 pon at our pumps? They take these tunes to the raged edge in jap land and it more often then not leads to a nice bang when they come over here.
It is very different then a person saying "you HAVE to use 94 on your stock ecu gtr" because the stock ecu is capable of dealing with 91.
You will notice in his first post, "tuned for 100 octane at 16psi"

Good info, there are surprisingly little information on this fact.
I know the OP in person and have discussed this in person. His ECU is a chipped stock ECU and we'll have to see just how aggressive the tune is.
I'm not trying to pick at little things with you Mcfly, I respect your knowledge and contribution to the community. I just want to see what you think about this:
I keep hearing how MINES ECU is tuned for 100 octane and is an aggressive tune. When I first got into this scene I read: "take your MINE's ECU and throw it in garbage.. etc etc" I believed it too, but having known two people that have pushed their cars beyond since purchase on that tune with 94 octane not blow their engine, I questioned this e-myth more and more. I've also noticed that this rumour stopped spreading around forums and between enthusiasts alike. Perhaps it was debunked?
One thing I found though:
RON MON AKI (PON or (RON+MON)/2
"regular" gasoline in Canada and the US
91–92 82–83 87
"EuroSuper" or "EuroPremium"
95 85–86 90–91
"premium" gasoline in the US
97-98 88–89 93
"SuperPlus"
98 89–90 93–94

are tubs turbos? if so then that is completely false, ive seen many GTR's with a few mods making 400

i've never seen that kinda power from stock turbos on dyno dynamics rollers.

well considering im planing on running my rb25 turbo for about 375whp (been done many times before) i think a stock twin turbo setup can get there with ease

well im more than happy to accept that if im proven wrong, got any dyno graphs?

Sorry man but I want to know what kind of unmodified OEM RB25 turbo you would use and what boost it would be on a dyno graph to get 375 whp and if thats safe. I would think there would be a lot of mods done to keep that at a safe level running 375.. Even then the turbo will give up pretty quickly at the boost I would think it would be running..

1 bar boost, im not talking about daily driving..weekend shit at the track or whatever..now im probably gonna rebuild with steel internals if i get over 375 but i was originally talking about the rb26 TT not my dinky tonka turbo

I was refering to that it sounded like you were planning on running 375whp on your OEM ceramic RB25 turbo.. I dont see that happening.
I see little point in spending money on rebuilding an RB25 turbo. Ive phoned a lot of places to rebuild one of mine and it really wasnt worth it in the end to rebuild OEM turbos
Back on topic for me though

lol same can be said for your magical "375WHP" with stock turbo (or even rebuilt)

I wasnt trying to be confrontational, I was just trying to keep the new peoples grand visions of 375 whp on stock RB25 turbos to a minimum. Im not calling you a liar either, it would just be hard to keep it efficient and holding together at that point

i completely understand, i wasnt meaning this is what i advise people its just what im gonna be maxing out at if i dont end up blowing up hehe, i initially was talking about the OP about twin turbos not handling 400

i never said wheel horsepower, it is at the engine.
Car should be here on Friday, May 7 100%, it has been delayed 5 weeks already.

Tough one there. If we would have had this one week earlier you would have never had to wait for the next late month shipment.
In other news, customer WRX arrived at the terminal last Tuesday. Leaving Japan in a couple days from today. Now I wish all shipping was this perfect...lolo
