FAST Installation;
Step 1: Extract "setup.rar" with the program of your choice.
Step 2: Run "setup.exe" found within the above .rar file. Install to c:\NISSAN
Step 3: Click through all the prompts, click ok when "windows-FAST SETUP MENU" appears. We will load the CD's later.
Step 4: Copy NSFASTKY.INI into your c:\WINDOWS folder. Right click NSFASTKY.INI and go to properties and make sure the read only box is NOT selected.
Step 5: Download which ever CD's you wish to load into FAST from http://www.gtrpwr.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=6
> A1, A2, A3, B1, and B2 are the most commonly used CD's. They will cover skylines and all North American Models (as recent as the program).
Step 6: Extract each CD into its own folder as you see below.
> Extract A1 into c:\NISSAN\A1
> Extract A2 into c:\NISSAN\A2
*Some people have said that you can extract them all into a common folder but beware
you will lose some data on specific models that may be important to you. Keep them segregated for best results.
Step 7: Once each CD you wish to load has been extracted into its appropriate folder you will need to load the CD's.
> Navigate to your "Fast For Windows" start menu folder and select "FAST Setup". You can also find it here "C:\NISSAN\Nfset.exe"
Step 8: Click CD-ROM Setup and then select the number of drives you are going to use. You need one for every CD you extracted.
> Click Browse and then navigate to your first CD folder and then click "OK"
Example: c:\nissan\a1\ (for CD 1}
c:\nissan\a2\ etc.
Step 9: Run Nissan Fast and test it out. If you need a hand with your setup or are running into a problem just make a new thread here and we can hopefully sort it out.

everything has always worked well for me with FAST except in the following instance:
if i try to ascribe the JP and GL and EL dataset CDs *together* at the same time
FAST will prompt me to select one of the groups first.. which is fine
but after that selection, it doesn't load
in only loads if i have the JP -or- the EL -or- the GR sets loaded
anyone ever come across this?

Has anyone managed to get the E_FAST program working? Ie the version that list parts for pre '79 cars?
Either get an Error saying "SET UP AGAIN" or something about no FAST cd present.
Normal FAST works fine for me though...

I installed FAST using these instructions and I cant get it to do anything! I get a screen that has 4 "buttons" on it labeled "fast system" "parts master" "alternate parts info" and "quit". The quit button closes the program but the other 3 buttons do nothing at all. I downloaded and unzipped A1 A2 A3 B1 B2 to seperate folders and then added them in the FAST setup as described in the DIY. Any idea on what I might have done wrong?
thanks- Don

I get this after using the Infiniti FAST (US2 on my system).
I only have US Nissan & US Infiniti on my system.
If I go back and start Nissan FAST (US1 on my system) and close it, then the E-FAST works without giving an error message.

Can anyone tell me how I would be able to download the files to begin with? It says that I do not have permission to access the files!

Yes I did actually read that, however it doesn't do a very good job of specifying what is considered contributing. I mean, its not exactly the easiest to post "useful" stuff when I own a Silvia as opposed to a skyline (and only for a very short period of time at that). So I was hoping for some better clarification on that side of it.
Thanks

I am getting an error message saying that FAST will not work with my version of windows which is vista. It says I would need a 64 bit version of the program, is there one out there? If not how else could I get it to work. Thanks in advance for any help you could give me.

There is no 64bit fast to my knowledge.
I believe the problem arises due to fast being a 16bit program

Is there any way to get it to run? What version of windows do you use?
I do have an old computer with windows 98 on it lol, I guess I could dig that out.

windows xp 32 bit is the newest I have been able to run it on.
There is a chance it would run on windows 7 if you ran the install and program in a separate memory space.

It definitely works on windows 7 64 bit as well as XP 32 bit. Just follow the instructions EXACTLY and it works perfectly! If you are having issues still I can install it again to remember what I had to do to get it working. I haven't gone through the process in about a year or so. What version fast are you using? I believe I only have 2001 or so since I was unable to download 2010 from here at the time.

I have the 2001 version with cd's a1,a2,a3,b1 and b2 downloaded. If you could help me get it running on vista that would be great.

Yes, I had it running on Windows 7 64-bit Professional. I haven't ever tried to get it running on vista, and I don't have access to a machine with vista on it right now. I say I had (past tense) only because the computer had some hardware issues and it has since been wiped. I'll install it again and see if I needed any tricks.
I assume (and hope) that you were following the instructions provided. If not, try it again following them.

I'm having some issues getting the program to work. I have followed all the steps and like another member on the boards the program will open but none of the menus will work, only the 'quit' one.

Finally got this running using my wife's 32 bit vista notebook. :) But why is some vehicles don't have "Accessory" in the index section? Vehicle models like the R32 and B13 doesn't have them while others do.

Is this an epidemic or what? I too have followed the instructions to the letter and can't make Fast work, only the quit button. Please help with suggestions and advice.
